Some things don't start out knowing what they are. They begin as fragments — salvaged materials, coffee-stained filters, found fabric, a piece of lace that refused to stay contained — and somewhere in the layering and the letting go, they become something that couldn't have been planned.
That's this piece.
The Becoming is built on a 9x12 canvas using coffee-dyed filters, black lace, and mixed media collage techniques. The lace intentionally extends beyond the canvas edge — this is not a flaw, it's a feature. It means this piece has dimension, shadow, and a life that doesn't stay inside the lines.
